에번: 일요일에 골프 치자.

Vince: Not on your life! If I played golf on Sunday I would have to leave home.

빈스: 절대로 안 돼! 일요일에 골프 치면 집에서 나와야 돼.

Evan: What are you talking about?

에번: 무슨 소릴 하는 거야?

Vince: Sunday is Mother's Day. Have you forgotten?

빈스: 일요일은 어머니의 날이잖아. 까먹었어?

Evan: Yes. It totally slipped my mind.

에번: 그렇네. 완전히 까먹었네.

Vince: Well you have time to plan something.

빈스: 있잖아 뭔가 계획을 세울 시간은 아직 남았어.

Evan: But I'd better come up with something quickly. What are you doing?

에번: 그런데 뭔가 빨리 생각해 내야겠네. 넌 뭐해?

Vince: All of the family in the area are getting together at our house.

빈스: 근처에 있는 가족이 모두 우리 집에서 모여.

Evan: It's too late for me to do something like that.

에번: 그런 걸 하기엔 너무 늦었어.

Vince: I'm sure you'll think of something. Call me when you can play golf.

빈스: 뭔가 생각이 날 거야. 골프 칠 수 있을 때 전화해.

기억할만한 표현

*slip (one’s) mind: 까먹다, 잊어버리다.

“I’ll call you tomorrow if it doesn’t slip my mind.” (까먹지 않으면 내일 전화할게.)

*come up with (something): (아이디어나 계획이)생각나다.

“Jordan came up with several ideas to save energy.” (조던은 에너지를 절약할 방안을 몇 가지 생각해 냈어요.)

*get together (with someone): (누구와) 만나다, 모이다.
