Lance: I'm supposed to meet Bob and Chris here for a drink but they haven't showed up yet.

랜스: 밥하고 크리스하고 술 한 잔 하려고 여기서 만나기로 했는데 아직 안 나타났어.

Sharon: They're probably held up in traffic. After all it is rush hour.

샤론: 아마 교통 체증에 막혀 있을 거야. 어쨋든 지금 러시 아워잖아.

Lance: I know but they should have been here by now.

랜스: 아는데 지금까지는 도착을 했어야지.

Sharon: Relax. There's nothing you can do about it.

Lance: You sound like my mother.

*show up: 나타나다.

“If he shows up late again, I’m not going to wait for him.” (그 사람이 또 늦게 나타나면 안 기다릴 거야.)

*hold (someone) up: 지연시키다.

“I’m sorry I held you up, but I had car trouble.” (기다리게 해서 죄송합니다만 차에 문제가 있었어요.)

*It can’t be helped: 어쩔 수 없다.
