Jeff: Can I have a word with you Hank?

제프: 행크 잠깐만 이야기 할 수 있을까?

Hank: Sure what's on your mind?

행크: 예 뭐가 신경 쓰이시나요?

Jeff: I'd like to talk to you about your job performance.

제프: 업무 능률에 대해서 이야기를 했으면 하네.

Hank: Are you upset about something?

행크: 뭐 언짢은 게 있으세요?

Jeff: As a matter of fact I'm not happy with you.

제프: 실은 자네에 대해서 마음에 안 드는 게 있어.

Hank: Tell me what it is and I'll correct it.

행크: 그게 뭔지 말씀해 주시면 고치겠습니다.

Jeff: In the last three weeks you've been late almost every day.

제프: 자네 지난 3주 동안 거의 매일 지각했어.

Hank: I know but it's been unavoidable.

행크: 저도 알고 있지만 어쩔 수 없었어요.

Jeff: It has to stop. You must be here on time. Are we on the same page?

제프: 지각 그만 해야지. 정시에 출근해야지. 나하고 같은 생각인가?

Hank: Yes sir. I won't be late again.

행크: 예. 다시 지각 안 하겠습니다.

*have a word with (someone): (누구와) 따로 이야기하다.

“I would like to have a word with you after the meeting.”
(회의 끝나고 따로 이야기 하고 싶은데.)

*on (one’s) mind: 신경이 쓰이다. 마음에 걸리다.

“Sarah seems distracted. There must be something on her mind.”
(새라가 심란한 것 같아. 신경 쓰이는 게 있는 게 분명해.)

*be on the same page: 의견이 일치하다. 생각이 같다.

“When everyone is on the same page, we will all be happier.”
(우리 모두 생각이 같으면 더 기분 좋았을 거야.)
