[오늘의 생활영어] How is (one) holding up?; (아픈 사람의) 상태가 어떠세요?

(Kasey is talking to her mother Lois…)

Kasey: How is Uncle Louis holding up? Is he feeling better?

Lois: He's doing much better. He's over his cold.

Kasey: Oh that's good. I'm glad he's feeling better.

Lois: His knees hurt a little but he's not stuck in bed any more.

Kasey: I'm glad to hear that.

Lois: Did you buy anything at the mall today?

Kasey: They had a sale on earrings.
