Roger: I'm up in the air about that.

로저: 아직 결정된 것 없어.

Roberta: Are you going to take a taxi or a bus?

로버타: 택시타고 갈 거야 버스타고 갈 거야?

Roger: I don't have the slightest idea.

로저: 난 잘 모르겠어.

Roberta: A taxi will get you there much faster but it's more expensive.

로버타: 택시타고 가면 훨씬 빠르지만 더 비싸지.

Roger: And a bus?

로저: 버스는?

Roberta: The bus will be cheaper but it will take you longer to get there.

로버타: 버스는 더 싸지만 가는데 더 오래 걸릴 거야.

Roger: So any way I look at it it's going to cost me.

로저: 그러니까 어떻게 해도 돈이 드네.

Roberta: Yes. I would take you but I have a lot on my plate on Friday.

로버타: 응. 내가 데려다 주고 싶지만 금요일에 내가 아주 바쁠 것 같아.

Roger: Oh I understand. That’s okay.

로저: 알았어. 됐어.

* up in the air: 미결상태다 불확실하다

“She’s up in the air about renting that apartment near the beach.” (그 여자 바닷가 그 아파트를 임대할지는 미결상태에요.)

* (one) does not have the slightest idea: 전혀 모르겠다

“I don’t have the slightest idea where my keys are.” (제 열쇠가 어디 있는지 저도 전혀 모르겠어요 .)

* (one) has a lot on (one’s) plate: 할 일이 아주 많다 아주 바쁘다

“I can’t play golf this weekend because I have a lot on my plate.” (전 이번 주말에 할 일이 많아서 골프를 못 치겠어요.)
