(Two college friends are talking in the cafeteria … )

Syd: Our writing teacher always keeps us in class late.

Sharon: Doesn't she know when you're supposed to get out of class?

Syd: I'm sure she does but once she gets on a roll she won't stop lecturing. I don't think she ever looks at the clock.

Sharon: Doesn't anyone bring it up with the teacher?

Syd: Everyone's too polite. We just politely wait for her to finish.

Sharon: What if you had another class back-to-back? You'd always be late for that class.

Syd: You're right but I'm late to my math class three times a week.
