*rear-ended: 앞 차의 뒤를 받다. 추돌하다.
“I got rear-ended this morning by a guy who was talking on his cell phone.” (오늘 아침에 핸드폰으로 통화하며 차를 몰던 운전자가 내 차 뒤를 받았어.)
*banged up a little: (사람이) 조금 다치다. (물건이) 조금 부서지다.
“My bicycle got banged up a little when I drove over it with my car.” (내가 차로 치고 지나가는 바람에 내 자전거가 조금 부서졌어.)
*check on (someone or something): 상황이나 상태를 살펴보다.
“I have to check on the soup. I don’t want to over-cook it.” (수프를 봐야겠어. 너무 끓이면 안 좋아.)
