Marty: So do you want to buy my car?

마티: 그래 내 차 살 거야?

Ed: I can‘t make up my mind.

에드: 결정을 못 하겠어.

Marty: Okay but I’ve got other people who are interested.

마티: 괜찮아. 한데 차에 관심을 보이는 사람들이 있어서.

Ed: Oh really? How many?

에드: 어 정말? 몇 명이나?

Marty: Two. I offered it to you first because I want you to have it.

마티: 두 명. 네가 샀으면 해서 너한테 먼저 제의를 한 거야.

Ed: That‘s very nice of you. I’ll talk it over with my wife and let you know tonight.

에드: 신경 써줘서 고마워. 집사람과 상의를 하고 오늘 밤에 알려줄게.

Marty:That‘s fine with me. Do you have doubts about it?

마티: 그렇게 해주면 돼. 마음에 걸리는 거라도 있어?

Ed: There’s no doubt in my mind but I want to make sure my wife and I are on the same page.

에드: 난 확실한데 집사람과 확실히 의견 일치를 보려고.

Marty: Good. Talk to you tonight.

마티: 좋아. 오늘밤에 얘기하자.

Ed: I‘ll call you when I know the answer.

에드: 결론이 나오면 전화할게.

기억할만한 표현

*make up (one’s) mind: 결심하다.

“If she makes up her mind today I‘ll be surprised.”

(그녀가 오늘 마음을 정한다면 놀랄 일이죠.)

*talk it (or something) over with (someone): (누구와) 상의하다. 논의하다.

“I talked my problem over with my teacher but I still failed the class.” (제 문제를 선생님과 상의했는데도 낙제를 면치 못했어요.)

*to be on the same page: 동의하다.

“We were on the same page yesterday but we aren’t today.”

(우린 어제는 의견 일치를 보았는데 오늘은 아니에요.)
