[오늘의 생활영어] to be way off; 완전히 틀리다

(Brittany is talking to her mother Penny…)

Brittany: Mom do you know how The White House got its name?

Penny: A man named White painted it?

Brittany: How did you come up with that answer?

Penny: I guessed.

Brittany: You're way off. Guess again.

Penny: I don't have a clue.

Brittany: You're not trying very hard.

Penny: Give me a break. Tell me the answer.

Brittany: The British burned it.When it was rebuilt it was painted white.

Penny: Thank you for the history lesson.
