(After having met and danced with a young woman Andy is talking to his brother at a party…)

Arthur: So how did it go?

아서: 그래 어떻게 됐어?

Andy: It was great! I introduced myself and we danced.

앤디: 아주 좋았어! 내 소개를 하고 춤췄어.

Arthur: I saw that. Did you ask her out?

아서: 그건 봤어. 데이트 신청했어?

Andy: Yes I did. And she said yes.

앤디: 응 했어. 승낙했어.

Arthur: Terrific. So she's not seeing anyone?

아서: 잘 됐다. 그래 사귀는 사람 없대?

Andy: No. She said she just ended a long relationship.

앤디: 없대. 오래 사귀던 사람이 있었는데 얼마 전에 끝냈대.

Arthur: Now don't do what you usually do with women.

아서: 이제 너 여자 만나면 흔히 하는 거 하지 마라.

Andy: What I usually do? What are you getting at?

앤디: 내가 흔히 뭘 하는데? 무슨 말을 하려는 거야?

Arthur: You know what I mean. You always rush into things. You fall in love so easily. Take it slow this time.

아서: 무슨 말인지 알잖아. 넌 항상 서둘러. 금방 사랑에 빠지잖아. 이번엔 천천히 신중해.

*ask (one) out: (누구에게) 데이트를 신청하다.

“I’m going to ask her out when I see her.” (그녀를 보면 데이트 신청할 거야.)

*what are you getting at?: 무슨 말을 하려는 거야? 무슨 말인지 모르겠어.

“I don‘t understand what you’re saying. What are you getting at?” (네가 하는 말을 이해를 못하겠어. 무슨 얘기를 하려는 거야?“

*rush into things: (남녀 관계에서) 서두르다.
