Dave: Hi Randall. I haven't seen you in a while. Come in.

데이브: 안녕 랜들. 오랜만이야. 들어와.

Randall: Somebody told me you were looking for someone to share your house.

랜들: 너 집을 함께 쓸 사람을 찾는다는 말이 들리던데.

Dave: I sure am. I just cut back on my hours at work. I've really been strapped for cash.

데이브: 맞아. 직장 근무 시간이 줄었거든. 현금이 쪼들려서 말이야.

Randall: I'm doing the same thing.

랜들: 나도 똑 같아.

Dave: You know what the place looks like. You'd have your own bedroom and bathroom.

데이브: 우리 집이 어떤지는 알잖아. 침실하고 욕실은 네 걸 따로 쓰게 될 거야.

Randall: What about the rent?

랜들: 방값은 어떻게 돼?

Dave: We'll split it down the middle.

데이브: 반씩 나눌 거야.

Randall: Do you think we'll be good roommates?

랜들: 우리 룸메이트로 잘 지낼 수 있을까?

Dave: I'm willing to give it a try.

데이브: 한 번 해봐야지.

Randall: Me too. I'm ready to move in anytime.

랜들: 나도 해봐야지. 난 언제든 이사 들어올 수 있어.

*cut back on (something): (무엇을) 줄이다.

"I lost weight when I cut back on desserts."

(후식을 적게 먹으니까 몸무게가 줄었어.)

*(one) is strapped for cash: 현금이 없다.

"Can you loan me twenty? I'm strapped for cash."

(20달러만 빌려줄 수 있어? 현금이 없어서 말야.)
