[오늘의 생활영어] put (something) out of (one's) mind; (~에 대한) 생각하지 않으려 애쓰다

(Anna is talking on the phone with a receptionist at the dentist's office)

Anna: This is Anna Park. I'd like to make an appointment.

Receptionist: Have you been here before?

Anna: Yes but it's been a long time.

Receptionist: So you've been putting it off.

Anna: It's easy to put it out of my mind.

Receptionist: I had a cancellation so I can get you in tomorrow at 10:00.

Anna: That will be fine but I just need to have my teeth cleaned.

Receptionist: Okay but the doctor might want to take x-rays.

Anna: Okay as long as he doesn’t use the drill.

Receptionist: You won’t have to worry about that tomorrow.

Anna: Good. Thank you.

Receptionist: See you tomorrow.

Anna: See you then.
