Two friends are having lunch.

Trevor: This month has been a living hell.

Chucky: Are you talking about the incredible rise in gas prices?

Trevor: Not only that! Food and airline prices have gone through the roof!

Chucky: Everybody I've talked to says there's no let up.

Trevor: There better be or we won't be able to afford to do anything.

Chucky: I've already put off going away for summer vacation this year.

Trevor: I suppose I'll have to do the same thing because I was planning on driving around the west.

Chucky: There's a good thing about not going anywhere for a vacation.

*go through the roof: 값이 뛰다.

“If college tuition continues to go through the roof, no one will be able to go to college.”

*put off: 연기하다.

“She keeps putting off her wedding, so I don’t think she will marry him.”
