[오늘의 생활영어] The fish are jumping; 물고기가 물 위로 뛰어오른다(잡기 쉬웠다)

(David is talking to Jim and Roger at work on Monday morning…)

(데이빗이 월요일 아침 직장에서 짐과 라저와 이야기를 하는데…)

David: So how was your fishing trip?

데이빗: 그래 낚시 여행 어땠어?



Jim: It was great! 짐: 좋았지!

Roger: The fish were jumping!

라저: 물고기가 물 위로 뛰어오를 정도였어!

David: Did you catch any?

데이빗: 좀 잡았어?

Jim: Oh yes. And we cooked them.

짐: 아 그럼. 그리고 요리도 해먹고.

Roger: You've got to come along with us the next time we go.

라저: 다음 번 갈 때 우리하고 같이 가자고.

David: I'd like to.

데이빗: 나도 그러고 싶어.

Jim: We pitched our tent right by the lake.

짐: 텐트는 호수 바로 옆에 쳤어.

David: How was the weather?

데이빗: 날씨는 어땠어?

Roger: It was warm in the morning and afternoon but a little nippy at night.

라저: 아침하고 오후에는 따뜻했는데 밤에는 약간 쌀쌀했어.

기억할만한 표현

*come along with (someone): (누구와) 함께 가다.

"Come along with me to the mall if you like."
(가고 싶으면 나랑 샤핑몰에 같이 가.)

*pitch a (or the) tent: 텐트를 치다.

"Let's have something to eat after we pitch the tent."
(텐트 친 다음에 뭣 좀 먹자.)

*a little nippy: (날씨가) 조금 쌀쌀한.

"It's a little nippy tonight, so I'm going to wear a sweater."
(오늘밤은 조금 쌀쌀해서 스웨터를 입을 거야.)
