[오늘의 생활영어] knock your socks off; 크게 놀래키다

(Tom and Jack are in a restaurant … )

Tom: What are you going to order?

Jack: I don't have the faintest idea. How about you?

너는?

Tom: I can't make up my mind. I don't know what anything is.

Jack: I'll order for you. I'll get a few things we can eat together.

Tom: You mean share?

Jack: That's exactly what I mean.

Tom: I grew up eating that way.

Jack: I'll order a Mexican salad and some tacos. The tacos will knock your socks off. But that's not enough.

Tom: That should be enough for now. We can order more later if we are hungry.

Jack: That's a great idea.

* can't make up my mind:

"She couldn't make up her mind what to do next."

"Terry wants to be a fireman when he grows up."
