Len: What are you talking about?

Len: You picked up the tab the last time.

렌: 지난번에 네가 샀잖아.

Daryl: Len I can read you like a book. Tell me the truth.

대럴: 렌 넌 내가 잘 알아. 사실대로 얘기해.

Len: You‘re right. I want to quit my job.

렌: 네가 맞다. 직장을 그만 두고 싶은데 말이야.

Daryl: You make good money. Why would you want to do that?

대럴: 너 돈 잘 벌잖아. 왜 직장을 그만두려는 건데?

Len: I want to travel around the world.

렌: 전세계를 여행하고 싶어서.

Daryl: That sounds like a pipe dream.

대럴: 그거 허황된 생각 같은데.

Len: I was hoping you would understand.

렌: 너는 이해해주겠지 하고 바랐는데.

*pick up the tab: 돈을 내다. 계산하다.

“The company is picking up the tab so order whatever you want.”

(회사에서 사는 거니까 마음대로 주문하세요.)

*make good money: 돈을 많이 벌다.

“She must have a good job because she makes good money.” (그녀가 돈을 많이 버는 걸 보면 좋은 직업을 갖고 있을 거야.)

*a pipe dream: 몽상 허황된 생각.

“Your hope of winning the lottery is a pipe dream.” (복권에 당첨되길 바라는 건 허황된 생각이야.)
