Cathy: This fog is really thick.

캐시: 안개가 정말 짙게 끼었어.

Ned: It'll burn off soon.

네드: 곧 증발될 거야.

Cathy: Maybe this isn't a good idea.

캐시: 지금 가는 거 좋은 생각이 아닌 것 같아.

Ned: Don't worry. I'll be careful.

네드: 걱정하지마. 조심해서 운전할게.

Cathy: But the traffic is moving at a snail'space.

캐시: 하지만 차들이 굼벵이처럼 가잖아.

Ned: It'll just take a little longer to get there.

네드: 도착하는데 시간이 조금 더 걸릴 뿐이야.

Cathy: Well I think we should turn back.

캐시: 글세 차를 돌려야 할 것 같은데.

Ned: My Mom is expecting us and I don't want to disappoint her.

네드: 어머니께서 우리 오길 기다리고 계신데 실망시켜 드리기 싫어.

Cathy: We can go next weekend.

캐시: 다음 주말에 가면 되잖아.

Ned: I don't want to put it off. We did that last time we planned to see her.

네드: 다음으로 미루고 싶지 않아. 지난 번에도 어머니 뵈러 간다고 했다가 미루었잖아.

기억할만한 표현

*(move) at a snail‘s pace: 굼벵이처럼 느리게 움직이다.

*turn back: 반대 방향으로 (차를) 돌리다.

“We turned back because the road was closed.”

(길이 막혀서 차를 돌렸어.) *put (something) off: 미루다. 연기하다.

“I am putting off my plans to marry Alice.” (앨리스와 결혼하려던 계획을 미뤘어.)
