[오늘의 생활영어] come to your senses; 정신차리다

Larry: Things have gotten so bad that I've dropped out of school.

Meg: What? Are you serious?

Larry: Absolutely! I've given it a lot of thought and I know it's the thing to do.

Meg: What brought this on? You can be a good student.

Larry: I can be but I'm not. I have no business wasting my parents'money.

Meg: What do your parents think about it?

Larry: I haven't told them yet. I'm going to start working first.

Meg: What kind of job can you get? Slinging hash?

Larry: You underestimate me. Actually I have a job lined up.

Meg: I can only hope that you come to your senses and get back into the university.

"He was slinging hash at McDonald's before he got fired."

"She is trying to line up a school to attend in the fall."
