[오늘의 생활영어] There's no time to lose; 꾸물거릴 시간이 없어

(Two friends are eating breakfast and talking…)

Tony: Did you call the girl you were talking to Friday night?

Andre: No I haven't but I can't get her out of my mind.

Tony: So why don't you call her? She's beautiful.

Andre: I was on the verge last night but I chickened out. I guess I'm too shy.

Tony: You? Too shy? I don't think so. You should call her.

Andre: I will… I will when I have the time.

Tony: I mean now! There's no time to lose!

Andre: I don't want her to think I'm too anxious.

Tony: Let me put it this way. If you don't call her I will.

*can’t get (someone or something) out of your mind:

“I can’t get the rumors out of my mind.”

*on the verge (of): 막 ~을 하려는 직전.

“He seems to be on the verge of having a very successful business.”

*chicken out: 꼬리를 내리다.

“If you chicken out this time, I’ll never plan a trip with you again.”
