(코리아타운뉴스) A Large-Scale Job Fair in O.C.

200 corporate and government agencies to participate
Hosted by Job Korea USA

Orange County is set to host a one of the region’s largest job fairs on May 19. Set to take place in Costa Mesa’s O.C. Fair & Event Center (88 Fair Dr. Costa Mesa), the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Job Korea USA, an agency linking job seekers to employers, is expanding its event, which was previously held five times in L.A. The upcoming event will be presented by O.C. Supervisor Commission, O.C. Supervisorial 2nd District Supervisor Michelle Steele and Hiring Fair Foundation, a nonprofit group established by Job Korea USA.

“The upcoming job fair will be different from the ones held in the past as it’s now supported by the Orange County government,” said Steel. “The government agencies will also be looking for potential employees in addition to general businesses. We expect this job fair to be resourceful not only for Korean-American job seekers but for everyone else searching for employment as well.”

Steel added that if she wins the upcoming election on Feb. 28, she plans to designate the job fair as an annual event approved by the Orange County government to secure funding.

“Orange County has been providing IT and other high-tech employment opportunities,” Steel said. “That will also be an opportunities for job seekers. Even the ones who are considering a career change could use this opportunity.”

Korean businesses participating in the job fair include Kim & Lee Law Offices, Nongshim, Paris Baguette and SM Entertainment.

“We’re also going to provide additional classes for resume writing and job interview preparations,” Job Korea USA president Brandon Lee. “I’d advise job seekers to show up well dressed with their resumes and cover letters prepared.”

Korean Chamber of Commerce chairman Eun Lee, Overseas Korean Traders Association L.A. branch chairman Jeong-sook Lim, KITA chairman Deok-jin Choi, Korean Groceries and Licensed Beverage Association chairman Jung-chil Kim, Korean Chamber of Commerce chief Byeong-moon Lee and Kim & Lee president Albert Jang were among the attendees at the press conference.
