(코리아타운뉴스) A Korean-American Pastor Sued American Airlines worth $ 6 million

He claimed that American Airlines refused to serve him “because I am Korean”

A 75-year-old Korean-American pastor has sued American Airlines for a lawsuit worth up to $6 million, alleging that the airline “prioritized white passengers.”

TMZ first broke the news on April 13 after Benny Shin demanded American Airlines for a compensation of $6 million over allegedly discriminating against him.

Shin claimed that American Airlines refused to serve him “because [he is] Korean” while he was trying to catch his flight to go to Corpus Christi from Dallas in June 2016. An American employee allegedly stopped him from entering the plane.

“The employee by the entrance didn’t let me get in just as I was board the plane,” Shin said. “About five to seven white passengers behind me were allowed to get in.”

Shin added that his experienced that day was “insulting, embarrassing and scary,” despite receiving a voucher from American that allowed him to take the next day flight.

The lawsuit was filed by David Dao, a Vietnamese-American lawyer, on April 13. TMZ added that the series of disturbing news coming out of airline service is a reflection of the discontent from their customers, who have similarly displeasing experiences.
