(Dan is talking to his son Gabriel … )

Dan: I haven't seen you much this week.

Gabriel: I've been working longer hours at the supermarket after school.

Dan: You're putting in longer hours at the supermarket?

Gabriel: Yes.

Dan: Why is that?

Gabriel: I'm trying to set aside some money.

Dan: What are you looking to buy?

Gabriel: A new bicycle.

Dan: These longer hours at work aren't going to cut into your school work are they?

Gabriel: No, dad. they're not.
