(Two friends are talking after class … )

Sally: Charlie why don't you pay attention in class?

Charlie: Because I can't catch on to what the teacher is saying.

Sally: You are the only one in class that doesn't.

Charlie: It's not my fault that she's so boring.

Sally: She isn't that bad. You're not open-minded when it comes to teachers.

Charlie: Well when it comes to teachers you're suck-up.

Sally: You're just jealous because you can't get A's like me on the tests.

Charlie: I could if I wanted to.

Sally: It's easy to say but not easy to do.

Charlie: I consider that a challenge. I'll show you that I can be a good student without sucking up.

* catch on (to): 알아듣다 이해하다

"It took me a while but I caught on."

"Brad's always sucking up to his boss."
