[JSR] Seniors: Take Your Final Bow!

The time has come in the school year when the Seniors take their final bow as they leave high school behind and enter into college. Similarly, here at JSR, it is also time for us to say goodbye to our seniors who have worked so diligently throughout their time with us. Whether they are veterans of JSR or they joined just this semester, our seniors have been great contributors to the program and especially our veterans have played a critical role in this program as student editors.

Our seniors this year, although not many, have so many successes they have not been able to count them on their fingers. We have seniors committing to great universities all around in a plethora of majors. Our seniors are highly successful and have committed to universities such as Harvard University, Yale University, Emory University, University of Southern California, New York University, and University of California Los Angeles.

As the Program Coordinator for this program, I cannot say that their successes are all thanks to JSR, but I do believe that JSR has played a vital role in their development and success as not just a writer, but also a student. Being a J Student Reporter requires writing skills, time management skills, interpersonal communication skills, and for our student editors, a firm understanding of grammar to edit their student reporters’ articles. With all of these necessities combined, I can proudly say that JSR has been a great asset in helping our seniors reach the high standards they have set for themselves.

It will be very sad to say goodbye to our seniors but as the Spring 19 JSR is now coming to close and we embark on the upcoming semester, we can only hope that the caliber of students that return and newly join us stay as high as it has thus far. The various topics our seniors and student reporters have written about are far reaching and I hope that we can continue reaching further and further.

To my seniors, it has been an honor to work with you in previous semesters and this semester. I applaud all of you and congratulate you from the deepest place in my heart. Just as successful as you have been here with us at JSR, I am confident that your successes will only continue as the years progress. It has been an honor working with you. May the wind always be at your back, and the sun always upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
