(코리아타운뉴스) “It’s Okay to Failing Your Math Test!”

A mother’s heartfelt message to
a depressed daughter goes viral
Hannah Cho posted it on Twitter

Clearly, happiness does not depend on grades in school for students after all.

A mother’s encouraging message to her daughter who was stressing over a poor grade on her math test has gone viral after it was tweeted recently.
Buzfeed reported on the message Hanna Cho had received from her mother on Tuesday and the loving relationship within her family has gained immense traction since.

“My ultimate goal was to get the perfect GPA, a 4.0,” Hannah told Buzzfeed. “So getting a B for me personally was unacceptable.”

Hannah, who aimed to achieve a 4.0 GPA was indescribably disappointed after she had received a B on her math test. Depressed about the test result, she text messaged her mother, saying, “I messed up on my math test.”

Not too long after, Hannah received a response from her mother.

“I don’t care if you fail your math test …,” She told Hannah. “I don’t care if you get below 1,00 on [your] SAT … I don’t care if your GPA is under 2.0 … I don’t care if you get accepted to Stanford … BUT … I care if you cry … I care if you are stressed … I care if you are unhappy … I care when you get hungry even if you get hungry every two hours (I admit, it can get tiring feeding you constantly) … But I love you.”

Tweeting a screenshot of her mother’s message, Hannah wrote, “Not only is she my mom, but she is truly my best friend. Our relationship is based upon trust and love. She never asks me to do homework, asks for my grades, or do chores because she trusts me to do so.”

Since Hannah’s message was posted on Twitter, the blogosphere has erupted with some suggesting that her mother should be selected as the “parent of the year.”

Some even went on to accuse Hannah of posting a fake message to attract attention online.

“Not all Asian parents are strict and demanding,” Hannah told Buzzfeed. “I’m glad to say that we broke free from those stereotypes and proved them wrong. My mom is the most wonderful role model I could ever ask for. She is the most powerful influence in my life and continues to love me unconditionally.”
