Dan: So it's been a month since you started working at the supermarket.

댄: 그러니까 수퍼마킷에서 일을 시작한지 한 달이 됐구나 .



Gabriel: Yes and I saved up enough money to buy my bicycle.

개브리얼: 네 그래서 이제 자전거를 사도 될 만큼 돈을 모았어요.

Dan: I'm proud of you.

댄: 네가 자랑스럽구나.

Gabriel: Why is that dad?

개브리얼: 왜요 아빠?

Dan: You worked long hours after school and kept your grades up.

댄: 방과 후에 일을 많이 하고도 좋은 성적을 유지했으니까 말이야.

Gabriel: Well I really did want the bike but school comes first.

개브리얼: 자전거를 갖고 싶긴 했지만 그래도 학교가 더 우선이잖아요.

Dan: You did well son you did well.

댄: 잘했다 아주 잘했어.

Gabriel: Thanks.

개브리얼: 고맙습니다.

Dan: So when are you going to buy the bicycle?

댄: 그럼 자전거는 언제 살 거니?

Gabriel: I'm going this Saturday.

개브리얼: 이번 토요일에 사러 갈래요.

기억할만한 표현

* save up (money): (특별한 목적을 위해) 돈을 모으다 챙겨두다

"She saved up to buy her car."

(그녀는 차를 사기 위해 돈을 모았습니다.)

* keep (one's) grades up: 좋은 성적을 유지하다

"I hope my son keeps up his grades while he's on the soccer team."

(우리 아들이 축구 팀에 있는 동안 좋은 성적을 유지했으면 좋겠어요.)

* (one) did well: 훌륭히 해내다

"You did well on the test Mary." (매리 시험을 훌륭히 치러냈구나.)
