Stan and Doug are talking about their past.

(친구 스탠과 더그가 옛날 일을 얘기하고 있다.)

Stan: Doug, when did you graduate from high school?

스탠: 더그, 고등학교 언제 졸업했지?

Doug: Oh, that was many moons ago. 1965.

더그: 아, 그게 아주 오래됐지. 1965년.

Stan: I went to college right after high school. Did you?

스탠: 난 고등학교 졸업하자 마자 대학에 갔는데. 너도 그랬지?

Doug: No. I got a job and then an apartment. I moved out of my parents' house after I graduated from high school.

더그: 아니. 일했어. 아파트도 얻고. 고등학교 졸업하고 부모님 집에서 나왔어.

Stan: So you were on your own after your senior year?

스탠: 그럼 고등학교 졸업하고 독립한 거네.

Doug: Yes. I went to college three years later in '68.

더그: 응. 대학은 3년 뒤인 68년에 갔어.

Stan: That was a smart thing to do.

스탠: 현명하게 했네.

Doug: I thought so. I wanted to be responsible for myself and get a job my own apartment and a bank account.

더그: 나도 그렇게 생각해. 나는 내가 책임지고 싶어서 직장도 잡고 아파트 얻고 은행 계좌도 열었어.

Stan: I bet your parents appreciated that.

스탠: 부모님께서 흐뭇하셨겠다.
