[오늘의 생활영어] (one) is due for (something); ~할 시간이다

(Jim is talking to Roger at work … )

Jim: What are you doing this weekend?

Roger: Well I'm due for a haircut. It's been a long time.

Jim: Me too.

Roger: Who cuts your hair?

Jim: A woman who has a shop by me.

Roger: I need to find someone new to cut my hair.

Jim: Who cut your hair the last time?

Roger: A guy Ken recommended but I don't like the way he cut my hair.

Jim: What are you going to do?

Roger: I’ll just have to take my chances and try someone new.

Jim: What else are you doing this weekend?

Roger: Not much. I’m just staying home.

Jim: Me too.

* by me: 사는 곳 근처에

“There’s a park by me. We can play tennis there.”

* the last time: 지난 번 마지막 때

“The last time I saw you was about a year or two ago.”

* take (one’s) chances:

“I never ate in this restaurant before but I’ll take my chances.”
