[오늘의 생활영어] I'm not going to have it: 절대 허락할 수 없어

(Tina is talking to her mother, Helen … )

Tina: Mom, may I ask you a question?

Helen: Sure, what is it?

Tina: Now don't get bent out of shape when you hear this.

Helen: What is it?

Tina: I want to get a tattoo. Can I get one?

Helen: Absolutely not!

Tina: Why not? My friends at school have them.

Helen: Your friends at school are not my daughters. It's out of the question.

Tina: Just a little one.

Helen: No way! I'm not going to have it. Not my daughter.

* get bent out of shape: 버럭 화를 내다

"My father got bent out of shape when I took his car without asking

him first."

* it's out of the question: 말도 안되다

"You're not sleeping at your friend's house this weekend. It's out of

the question."

"No way am I going to be able to move that piano by myself. I'll need

help."
