[오늘의 생활영어] have no choice; 다른 도리가 없다

(Ben and Alice are talking … )

Ben: I've got some bad news.

Alice: (joking) Oh no! The TV's broken?

Ben: No. Worse. I've got to work tomorrow.

Alice: Tomorrow's Saturday.

Ben: I know but I've had a lot of work pile up when we were shut down last week.

Alice: But it's Saturday. You're supposed to help at Annie's softball practice.

Ben: I have no choice.

Alice: Did you get someone to fill in for you for softball practice?

Ben: Yes. David Wolf will be at practice for me.

Alice: Well, that's good.

* fill in for (someone): ~대신 일하다
