[오늘의 생활영어] (someone or something) drives (one) up a wall; 화나게 하다, 곤란하게 만들다

Roommates Annie and Sandra are washing Annie's car.

Annie: Are you ready for the exams next week?

Sandra: Yes but it's driving me up a wall.

Annie: What are you worried about?

Sandra: I don't have a handle on idioms.

Annie: We're in the same boat. Idioms are hard for me too.

Sandra: Really?

Annie: Yes. But if we pull together maybe we can get a good grade.

Sandra: That's a good idea.

Annie: After we finish washing the car let's study idioms.

Sandra: Okay.

*have or get a handle on (something):

"I have to get a handle on my Spanish class."

*to be in the same boat:

Jim: "May I borrow your dictionary?"

Roger: "We're in the same boat. I don't have a dictionary either."

"If we pull together we can be finished with this job in fifteen minutes."
