[오늘의 생활영어] come down with (something); (감기나 독감에) 걸리다

English teachers Kelly and Laura are talking.

Kelly: So can you do it?

Laura: You want me to sub for you tonight?

Kelly: Would you?

Laura: Sure I can do it. Are you sick?

Kelly: I'm coming down with a cold.

Laura: That's too bad. Yes I can work for you tonight.

Kelly: Thanks. Everything you need is in the top right drawer of my desk.

Laura: What subjects am I teaching?

Kelly: Grammar and conversation. You can play it by ear.

Laura: I'll leave you a note so you'll know where I left off.

*sub for (someone): (누구) 대신 일하다.

"I'm going to sub for Marilyn tonight."

*play it by ear:

"I don't know what I'm making for dinner. I'll play it by ear."

*where (one) leaves off: 마지막으로 일한 곳.

"Let me know where you leave off and I'll continue the class from there tomorrow."
