Tanya and Leni are talking on the telephone.

Tanya: I was expecting to talk to you yesterday.

Leni: You were?

Tanya: Didn't you get my message?

Leni: Yes and I was going to get back to you today.

Tanya: It's too late. The tickets for the play were for last night.

Leni: Oh no! I really blew it.

Tanya: And to make you feel worse the tickets were comps.

Leni: I'm sorry. I hope I didn't leave you hanging.

Tanya: No. Sharon went with me and we both thought the play was wonderful.

Leni: Please call me the next time.

*get back to (someone):

"Thanks for getting back to me right away."

"She had a chance to get the job but she blew it."

"I left my boss hanging and now he's very angry."
