[오늘의 생활영어] at the most; 기껏해야, 많아야

(Barry and his wife Rachael are waiting to be seated in a fancy restaurant…)

Barry: Good evening. We have a reservation for two at 8:00. The name's Loftus.

Maitre'd: Yes sir. Let me check for you.

Rachael: They're packed in here like sardines. I'm glad we made a reservation.

Maitre'd: Excuse me sir. When did you make the reservation?

Barry: Three days ago. What's the problem?

Maitre'd: There must be a mistake.

Barry: That's impossible. I made a big deal about it because it's our anniversary.

Maitre'd: I'm sorry but I can't find the name "Loftus". Could it be under another name?

Barry: No! I'm trying not to lose my temper. When will we be able to get a table?

Maitre'd: Fifteen minutes at the most sir. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience.
