(Andy and Eddie are at work and Eddie looks worried … )

Andy: Eddie what's wrong? Down in the dumps?

Eddie: Yeah. I guess I am.

Andy: What's wrong?

Eddie: I've got a chance to make the biggest sale of the year but all I can do is wait.

Andy: Why don't you do some follow up work?

Eddie: For the past two months that's all I've been doing. I've been talking to him on the phone taking him to lunch and football games. I even sent flowers to him and his wife on their anniversary.

Andy: You should have it locked up.

Eddie: I wish.

Andy: When is he going to make up his mind?

Eddie: Before the end of the year.

* down in the dumps:

"My parents are down in the dumps because I quit school."

"You should follow up your letters with phone calls."
