[오늘의 생활영어] in case ; ~할 경우, ~할 때를 대비해서

Joan: So you're off to go camping.

조앤: 그럼 이제 캠핑 떠나는 거니.



Paul: Yes we are.

폴: 네.

Eric: Do we have everything in the car?

에릭: 차에 모든 것 다 실었지?

Paul: Everything is packed.

폴: 다 실었지.

Joan: Take extra sweaters in case it gets cold at night.

조앤: 밤에 추울 것 대비해서 스웨터 여벌을 가져가라.

Paul: I did.

폴: 벌써 챙겼어요.

Joan: How long are you going to be gone?

조앤: 얼마나 오래 가있는 거니?

Eric: For a week.

에릭: 일주일이요.

Paul: We'll be back next Saturday.

폴: 다음 토요일에 돌아올 거에요.

Joan: All right. Take care and have a great time. Take pictures.

조앤: 그래. 조심하고 좋은 시간 보내라. 사진도 찍고.

기억할만한 표현

* to be off (to do something): (~ 하러) 떠나다

"I'm off to the market to get dinner." (저녁 식사 사러 전 마킷에 가요.)

* (something) is packed: (짐을) 꾸리다 채워넣다

"That bag is packed with cookies."

(그 가방은 쿠키로 꽉 채워져있습니다.)

* to be back: 돌아오다

"She's not here right now. She'll be back in about ten minutes."

(그녀는 지금 여기 없어요. 10분 후면 돌아올 겁니다.)
