Julie: You see that girl walking toward us?

줄리: 저기 우리쪽으로 걸어오는 여자 아이 보여?

Daniel: You mean that cute girl in the yellow dress?

대니얼: 노란 드레스 입은 예쁜 애?

Julie: I wouldn't say she's cute but her dress looks funny.

줄리: 저 여자가 예쁘다기보다는 옷이 좀 우습네.

Daniel: It looks terrific to me.

대니얼: 나한텐 아주 멋져보이는데.

Julie: Are you kidding? It's out of fashion. That style went out last year.

줄리: 농담이지? 구식인데. 저 유행은 작년에 지나갔어.

Daniel: Oh, come on. As long as it looks good on her.

대니얼: 뭘 그러니. 사람한테 잘만 어울리면 되지.

Julie: Wow, you're as out-dated as she is.

줄리: 원, 너도 저 여자애만큼 구식이구나.

Daniel: So what? What's the point of being fashionable?

대니얼: 그래서 뭐? 유행에 따르는게 뭐 좋아서?

Julie: You're old school.

줄리: 너 고지식하다.

Daniel: Yes I am and I'm proud of it.

대니얼: 그래 난 고지식하고 그게 자랑스럽다.

* out of fashion: 유행에 한물 가다

"I'll be happy when hip-hop music is out of fashion." (힙합이 한물 가면 전 아주 기뻐할 겁니다.)

* as long as: ~하는 한

"You can go as long as you're home for dinner." (저녁 시간까지만 돌아올 수 있으면 얼마든지 나가도 된다.)

* so what?: 그래서 뭐?

"So what if we're a little late getting home." (좀 집에 늦게 온다고 뭐 어때요.)
