(코리아타운뉴스) L.A. Koreatown’s Mega Coin Laundromat

On Vermont and Fourth

A humongous coin laundromat in Los Angeles Koreatown is attracting all sorts of attention.

Across the street from Galleria Market on Vermont and Fourth, Café Laundry (previously Eden Auto) has 96 laundry and 112 dry machines available in its 8,400-square-foot space.

Its parking lot may be just as big, making enough space for 35 cars.
There is also a coffee machine and a large screen television for customers who may get bored waiting for their laundry.

“The goal is to help the customers to do their laundry as fast and comfortably as possible,” said owner Ji-hong Min. “There are so many apartments around the neighborhood and the location is prominent, so I felt like the coin laundry business would do well here.”

Min added: “Coin laundry places nowadays easily surpass 5,000 square feet in size. There were some difficulties before starting this business, but I was able to overcome them with my past experiences.”

Min added that the business plan on training its employees rigorously to provide the best services to the customers. The cost varies depending on the machine from $2.50 to $7.25, which is similar to other nearby laundromats.
Café Laundry is giving away scarves to its first 10,000 female customers.
