(코리아타운뉴스) White Diagonal Lines to Protect Pedestrians
Some parts of the Third Street within Los Angeles Koreatown have diagonal white lines. The city of L.A. has stepped up to draw those lines as a part of its Vision Zero project. The purpose is to expand the area that restricts the passage of vehicles and protecting the pedestrians at various intersections. The L.A. Department of Transportation recently reported that Koreatown has the fourth highest rate pf deaths and injuries from car accidents among pedestrians in the entire county. The white diagonal lines were marked on Third and Vermont, an area selected as one of the 40 accident-prone intersections in the city. By Sangjin Kim
