Fred and Sharon are talking between classes…

(프레드와 샤론이 쉬는 시간에 이야기를 하고 있다…)

Sharon: What are you doing this weekend?

샤론: 이번 주말에 뭐 할 거야?

Fred: I have to study for a math test all weekend.

프레드: 주말 내내 수학 시험 공부해야 돼.

Sharon: I hate math. It's very boring.

샤론: 난 수학 싫더라. 너무 지루해.

Fred: It's not so bad. It just takes a lot of time. I've got homework to do every night.

프레드: 수학이 그 정도로 나쁘진 않아. 공부하는데 시간이 많이 걸려서 그렇지. 난 매일 저녁 숙제 해야 돼.

Sharon: Are you going to Terry's party on Saturday night?

샤론: 토요일 저녁에 테리가 여는 파티에 올 거지?

Fred: I'd like to but you know how it is. It seems like studying never ends.

프레드. 가고야 싶지만 너도 잘 알잖아. 공부는 해도 해도 끝이 없는 것 같아.

Sharon: Come on! It's Saturday night! It would be good for you to take a break.

샤론: 왜 그래! 토요일 밤이잖아! 잠시 쉬는 것도 너한테 좋을 걸.

Fred: Well maybe I can make it for a while. It's potluck, isn't it?

프레드: 글쎄 잠깐 갈 수는 있겠다. 각자 음식 갖고 오는 거 맞지?

Sharon: Yeah. I think I'll make a big fruit salad.

샤론: 맞아. 난 과일 샐러드를 큰 것으로 가져갈까 봐.

Fred: That sounds good. I'll try to put something together but I'm sure it will be nothing special.

프레드: 괜찮은 생각이네. 난 이것 저것 모아서 가져 가야겠는데 특별한 건 없을 거야.

*take a break: 쉬다.

"He just took a ten-minute break." (그는 10분 쉬었을 뿐입니다.)

*make it: 모임 등에 가다.

"I'm very happy that you made it to class today." (네가 오늘 수업에 나오니 너무 기쁘구나.)

*put something together(also put together something): 취합하다. 짜맞추다.

"She is putting together a proposal to give to the mayor of Los Angeles." (그녀는 LA 시장에게 제출할 제안서를 취합 작성하고 있습니다.)
