Korea Daily Will Host Summer Camp
The Korea Daily is announcing its fifth annual Leadership Camp, to be held between Monday, June 29 and Friday, July 3 on the campus of Pepperdine University.Leadership Camp is for
students who want to learn about leadership and journalism. Over the week, elementary, middle, and high school students will attend classes prepared and taught by Molly Levine and aimed at teaching the role of news in society. The high school students will act as "mentors" for the elementary and middle school students, guiding them in group video projects that will be completed over the week.
Additionally, there will be a group dancing activity, an art workshop, a basic web design tutorial, and some public
speaking-related events. The Korea Daily is also working to coordinate a workshop with an outside speaker from a journalistic organization, although that
speaker has not been
determined yet.
Previous Leadership Camps have been an enormous
amount of fun, and students will also enjoy this camp. Pepperdine - the site of the camp - is also one of the most beautiful campuses on the West Coast and an ideal location for a week of learning.
The cost of the camp is $899 for junior and senior campers entering the fifth through ninth grades. For mentors, who are entering tenth through 12th grades, the cost is $699.
