Sal: Are you going out of town for the holidays?

샐: 이번 휴일 때 다른 데 갈 거야?

Hal: Yeah. I'm going to New York for Christmas.

핼: 응. 크리스마스 맞아서 뉴욕에 갈 거야.

Sal: Oh that's right. You're going to get together with your family.

샐: 아 그렇구나. 가족들이 모이는 거구나.

Hal: This year everyone will be there.

핼: 올해는 전부 다 올 거야.

Sal: How many will that be?

샐: 가족이 몇이나 되는데?

Hal: I think it will be over twenty.

핼: 스무 명은 넘을 거 같은데.

Sal: Do you get along with all of them?

샐: 그 많은 가족과 다 잘 지내?

Hal: For the most part but I don't have a lot in common with many of them.

핼: 대체로. 한데 나 하고 비슷한 점이 많은 가족은 많지 않아.

Sal: Well I hope you have a good time.

샐: 그렇구나. 즐겁게 보내길 바래.

Hal: Thanks Sal. I hope you have a wonderful holiday too.

핼: 고마워 샐. 너도 크리스마스 잘 보내고.

기억할만한 표현

*get together (with): 모이다. 뭉치다.

"We are getting together to play golf tomorrow."

(우린 내일 모여서 골프 쳐.)

*get along with (someone): (누구와) 잘 어울리다.

"Have you ever gotten along with your sister?" (네 누이와 잘 지낸 적 있니?)

*have (something) in common with (someone): 공통점이 있다.

"I don't have much in common with my brother-in-law."

(난 처남과 공통점이 별로 없어.)
