리타: 우리 애가 전에는 이렇게 늦은 적이 없었는데.

Dan: He's only twenty minutes late.

댄: 이제 겨우 20분 늦은 거야.

Rita: I don't know how you can have such an easy-going attitude.

리타: 당신은 어쩜 그렇게 느긋할 수가 있어요.

Dan: I trust our son.

댄: 아들을 믿는 거지.

Rita: But he always calls when he's going to be late.

리타: 그래도 늦게 되면 항상 전화를 해주던 아이잖아요.

Dan: I'm sure he just lost track of time.

댄: 시간 가는 줄 몰라서 그럴 거야.

Rita: He's probably had a bad car accident.

리타: 끔찍한 차 사고가 난 거 아닐까.

Dan: You always think of the worst case scenario.

댄: 당신은 항상 최악의 상황을 떠올리더라.

Rita: I can't help it.

리타: 나도 어떻게 안 된단 말이에요.

Dan: I know. You've been like that since I've known you.

댄: 알아. 내가 당신을 만난 뒤로 항상 그랬어.

(그 사람 결혼 전에는 천하태평이었어.)

*lose track of time: 시간 가는 줄 모르고.

“When I don’t wear my watch, I always lose track of time.”
