Jill: I hope we don't run late.

Jill: I hope we can wrap up the meeting at seven or seven-thirty.
질: 7시나 7시 30분에 회의 끝나면 좋을 텐데.
Maria: I don't think that's going to happen.

Maria: Because the boss loves to talk on and on.
머리아: 부장님은 계속 말 하는 걸 좋아하잖아.
Jill: I know. I wish he would stick to the point of whatever he wants to say.
질: 맞아. 부장님이 무슨 말을 하더라도 요점을 벗어나지 않았으면 좋겠어.
Maria: Instead he talks about unimportant things.
머리아: 그보다는 중요하지도 않은 걸 얘기하잖아.

*run late: 늦다. 오래 걸리다.
“My examination ran late, but my doctor said I’m in good health.” (진찰하는 데 오래 걸리기는 했는데 의사 말이 건강 상태가 좋대.)
*talk on and on (about something): (무엇에 대해) 계속 이야기하다.
“My neighbor can talk on and on about her son. It’s so boring.” (우리 옆 집 사람은 아들 얘기라면 한도 끝도 없이 할 거야. 너무 지루해.)
*stick to the point: 요점에서 벗어나지 않다.
“My meetings are short because I stick to the point and say exactly what I feel.” (내가 요점에서 벗어나지 않고 느낀 바를 정확하게 얘기해서 회의가 짧았어.)
