(레니와 아들 조가 책꽂이를 만들면서…)
Joe: Dad let me cut that piece of wood.
Lenny: Okay but put on your safety glasses.
레니: 그래. 하지만 보안경 써라.
Joe: When can I make something for myself?
조: 전 언제 제 힘으로 뭔가 만들 수 있을까요?
Lenny: Don't get ahead of yourself. We have to build this one first.
레니: 너무 앞서가지 마라. 우린 우선 이것부터 만들어야 돼.
Joe: Don't worry. We'll finish this one in no time.
조: 걱정 마세요. 이건 금방 끝낼 거에요.
Lenny: Finishing quickly isn't as important as doing it well.
레니: 빨리 끝내는 것보다 잘 하는 게 중요하지.
Joe: I feel a lecture coming on.
조: 지금 훈계 하시려는 거죠.
Lenny: I'm sorry but I'm making an important point.
레니: 미안하지만 중요한 걸 지적한 거야.
Joe: I got it Dad.
조: 알았어요 아빠.
Lenny: Good. Now cut the wood.
레니: 그래. 이제 나무 자르자.
▶in no time: 금방. 곧바로.
“I finished my homework in no time.”
(난 곧바로 숙제 끝냈어.)
▶(Something) coming on: ~할 것 같은.
“I feel a cold coming on.”
(감기에 걸릴 것 같아.)
▶make a point: 요점을 말하다. 중요한 것을 지적하다.
“He talked about many things, but he didn’t make a point.”
(그 사람은 많은 걸 얘기했는데 요점이 없었어.)
