Anytech, a specialist in eco-industrial solutions, announced the commercialization of a world-first technology that leverages CCU (Carbon Capture Utilization) to valorize CBS (Chloride Bypass System Dust) from the cement industry and eliminate waste disposal (“zero landfill”). The breakthrough supports the sector’s transition to carbon neutrality by coupling CBS resource recycling with cement CO₂ reduction outcomes.
Global cement producers—particularly in Europe—are accelerating the use of alternative fuels (up to 100%) to decarbonize kilns. However, higher alternative-fuel ratios increase chloride-rich CBS emissions, making CBS valorization an essential co-development for sustainable operations.
Anytech’s commercial solution upcycles CBS into 99% high-purity potassium chloride (KCl) using an integrated CCU process, creating an industrial-grade product stream and achieving zero-waste handling of CBS. The company has secured stable offtake channels for high-purity KCl and validated the technology via pilot tests with leading Korean cement companies. In addition, collaboration with a major European cement producer— including sample testing— is underway, signaling strong potential for international scale-up.

Developed through national research programs in partnership with a government-funded research institute, the technology’s core IP has been successfully transferred to Anytech for commercialization. The company expects the platform to substantially reduce cement CO₂ emissions while accelerating resource circularity across the industry.
“This milestone marks a decisive step toward carbon-neutral cement manufacturing,” an Anytech spokesperson said. “We will demonstrate the superiority of CCU-based CBS resource recycling in Korea and abroad, delivering tangible cement CO₂ reduction and zero-waste performance.”
