Early last September, Dwight School Seoul proudly sent its scholars to the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Bangkok, an international academic competition that brings together students from over 30 countries. Six exceptional students from Dwight School Seoul, Tain, Daniel, and Philip from Grade 8, and Amber, Nicolas, and Justin from Grade 11, earned the honor of representing the school through their outstanding performance. Their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for learning shone throughout the competition, setting them apart as exemplary scholars.
Among the highlights, Grade 8 student Philip was selected to participate in the prestigious Debate Showcase as one of the top debaters, demonstrating exceptional analytical and public speaking skills. Meanwhile, Grade 11 student Justin contributed his expertise by serving on the debate panel, guiding and supporting his fellow competitors. Beyond debating, the event offered students valuable opportunities to develop critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, the qualities that will serve them well both inside and outside the classroom.
The success of these scholars has earned them a place at the highly anticipated World Scholars’ Championship at Yale University in November 2025, one of the most esteemed global academic competitions. This invitation is a testament to their talent, perseverance, and commitment to excellence, as well as to Dwight School Seoul’s ongoing mission to nurture curious, confident, and capable learners.
As the school community celebrates this achievement, we look forward to cheering on our scholars as they continue to shine on the international stage, bringing pride to Dwight School Seoul and inspiring future generations of students to reach for excellence.
