Grandma Garae Tteokbokki opened its first official store in LA Koreatown in late April to early May 2023, drawing significant attention. Even during its soft opening on February 15, 2023, the brand attracted large crowds from the outset, becoming a hot topic within the local community and media, which dubbed it “the new hot place in Koreatown.”

In February 2024, the brand further strengthened its presence by opening an additional location in the food court of Olympic Galleria Market. This store quickly gained popularity through social media word-of-mouth and has continued to generate stable sales.

Currently, the main Grandma Garae Tteokbokki location is situated in the Olympic Galleria Market food court at 3516 W 8th Street, LA Koreatown. The franchise also operates stores in Southern California areas such as Northridge and Buena Park.

Beyond Southern California, the brand has expanded into the western and midwestern United States, opening locations in Federal Way, Washington; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Las Vegas, Nevada, further establishing itself as a growing U.S. franchise brand.

Grandma Garae Tteokbokki aims to open a total of 20 locations by 2026. As part of this plan, the company is preparing to open a new store in Alaska between January and February 2026.

A representative of Grandma Garae Tteokbokki stated, “By maintaining the authenticity of traditional Korean tteokbokki while implementing a localized menu strategy, we are receiving strong support from a wide range of customers. Moving forward, we plan to continue sustainable growth across the U.S. based on a stable system and consistent quality.”
