The iF Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious international design competitions, recognizing excellence in innovation, usability, and social impact. Kim received the award for designing Lumie AI, a platform that leverages artificial intelligence to deliver personalized emotional support while prioritizing user safety, transparency, and accessibility.
Lumie AI combines natural language processing with adaptive user experience design to identify emotional risk signals and provide tailored support through text, voice, and video interactions. Unlike many traditional wellness applications that rely on static prompts and scripted experiences, Lumie AI dynamically adapts to user needs, creating a more responsive and supportive experience. The platform reflects Kim's broader design philosophy of using emerging technologies to improve access to meaningful and inclusive care.
Kim currently serves as an Experience Designer at Electronic Arts (EA), one of the world's leading interactive entertainment companies. In her role, she collaborates with cross-functional teams to design user-centered digital experiences, helping translate complex technical requirements into intuitive and accessible product solutions for millions of players worldwide.
Prior to joining EA, Kim worked as a Product Designer at VetraFi. At VetraFi, she led the design of a banking application for U.S. service members. By conducting extensive usability testing, she successfully reduced user hesitation on sensitive input screens, such as Social Security Number verifications, improving onboarding completion rates by 25 percent. She also established a comprehensive design system that standardized visual elements, accelerating the design iteration process. At Studio Dopa, her structural adjustments to the onboarding flow for the AI chatbot Soulplay increased user conversion by 20 percent and sustained a weekly active user base of 4,200.
