Hosted by global thread-lifting brand APTOS and its exclusive distributor in Korea, Intercare Science (ICS), the A.X.A Forum is a private forum designed for key partners and leading physicians who contribute to shaping APTOS’ clinical value and brand philosophy. The event was held under the slogan, “Strategic Expert Forum to Define Clinical Excellence Standards.”
 
APTOS uses absorbable P(LA/CL) threads with a specialized barb structure designed to securely fix and reposition tissue. Some of its product lines also incorporate NAMICA technology using hyaluronic acid (HA), facilitating smoother thread insertion and promoting tissue remodeling.
 
The forum brought together physician trainers responsible for APTOS education to share clinical expertise and discuss standardized training protocols. The program consisted of four special lectures and four clinical case review sessions.
 
Dr. Lim opened the forum as the speaker for “Special Lecture I,” presenting on the topic, “Key Anatomical Insights for Safe and Effective APTOS Thread Lifting.”
 

During the lecture, Dr. Lim discussed the facial anatomical structures that physicians must understand when performing thread-lifting procedures, safe anatomical planes for thread insertion, and key precautions for different facial areas.
 
He particularly emphasized that, unlike conventional cog thread-lifting procedures, APTOS is based on the concept of fat repositioning, in which tissue is mobilized and gathered into a more appropriate position. Therefore, an anatomical understanding of the correct insertion planes and the design of lifting vectors plays a decisive role in both the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.
 
“The foundation of every procedure is anatomy,” said Dr. Lim. “In thread lifting, critical structures such as blood vessels and nerves may be located along the path of thread insertion. An accurate understanding of facial anatomy is therefore the starting point for performing the procedure safely.”
 
He added, “This lecture was particularly meaningful because it was presented to physician trainers who are responsible for educating others in APTOS procedures. When trainers establish rigorous and in-depth anatomical standards, they can provide higher-quality education to other physicians. Ultimately, this leads to greater safety and satisfaction for patients undergoing treatment.”
 
Dr. Youngbin Lim was selected as one of Korea’s first official APTOS training doctors and has continued to participate actively in academic activities, including theoretical lectures, hands-on seminars, and live demonstrations.
 
He also serves as vice president of the Korean Academy of Facelift & Contouring and is an official trainer for global thread-lifting brands including APTOS, Silhouette Soft, and MINT Lift, as well as a Restylane Master Doctor.
